I made this table especially for the exhibition at the gallery of the Z workshop May 2011
At every show between 2000 and 2008 I realized the small format paintings on the theme of animals. It is in this context that I made a series of painted elephants, about fifteen.
It was presented in 2003 at the Galerie La Hune Brenner A4, I just wanted to redo much bigger (120×80 cm) in 2010 on the occasion of an exhibition presented at the Show-Édoudard Rambau room.
I collected as a child, elephants, I had more than 150 in all shapes and all sizes. This animal always fascinated me and fascinates me by its size and multiple curves.
This goes back too far before my first exhibition. May be reminiscent of cartoonish characters which are often filled with paint stains
