I like plans “for the ceiling” which are very used in the cinematographic universe.
I always wanted to integrate a plan like this in one of my works without really knowing how to do it or even without really having a fit about this situation.
Until I came across a picture of a mermaid I immediately got a desire to represent the interior of a bath. So I can easily explain it as being a child I was fascinated by the movie “Splatch” with Tom Hanks, I spent the tape (this is the era of VHS) loop. I loved this movie.
I think the association siren + bath comes from (for those who know some scenes of the film). This painting was presented for the first time at the fair Affordable Art Fair Brussels
