The public is invited to the opening of the art exhibit by the French artist Jérémie Baldocchi in the Capitol Theatre Irving Lobby on Monday, September 10, 2012, at 5 pm.

Jérémie Baldocchi wants to share his obsession for the human body as well as for kitsch aesthetics. He wants the viewer to be inspired to take a stand and think how the outside world reflects within his or herself. His main sources of inspiration are people’s every day habits and quirks, as well as the absurdities of everyday life.
“These small scenes of small pleasures or foibles link us all by their banality,” adds this artist who resides in Paris.
His collage and assembling techniques mix acrylics; ink and varnish remind us of the consumption in our own society. His material, textures, lovely wallpapers and bright colours bring us warm memories of our childhood days. These elements serve to divert the viewer from the disconcerting vision of the headless physiques of his characters.
